Target Information
Feline T-cell surface glycoprotein CD4 is a crucial membrane glycoprotein expressed on the surface of T-helper cells, regulatory T cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells in cats. It plays a significant role in T cell development and activation, primarily functioning as a co-receptor for the interaction with MHC II molecules: peptide complexes. CD4 is also involved in signal transduction, cytokine production, and immune response modulation. It is particularly important for the development of thymic T-helper cells and for triggering the differentiation of monocytes into mature macrophages.
