Target Information
Feline Xanthine Dehydrogenase/Oxidase (XDH) is a key enzyme involved in purine metabolism, catalyzing the oxidation of hypoxanthine to xanthine and then to uric acid. XDH primarily exists as an NAD-dependent form in the liver but can be converted to xanthine oxidase (XO) through post-translational modifications. In cats, XDH activity is closely related to tissue damage and ischemia-reperfusion injury. Additionally, XDH plays a role in regulating reactive oxygen species metabolism and cellular stress responses.
