Target Information
Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) is a condition marked by acute inflammation of the upper respiratory tract in cattle. The infection caused by Bovine herpesvirus type 1 (BoHV-1) can occasionally lead to abortion in pregnant cows. A key component of the virus, the envelope glycoprotein D, facilitates its binding to host cell entry receptors. Additionally, this glycoprotein may initiate fusion with the host membrane by enlisting the fusion machinery comprised of glycoproteins gB and gH/gL.
