Target Information

C-Reactive Protein (CRP) serves as a positive acute phase protein (APP). It is a protein produced by the liver. When there's inflammation in the body, the level of CRP increases. CRP plays a crucial role by binding to pathogens, thereby enhancing their opsonizationbefore the specific immunoglobulins (IgM and IgG) are produced. In cattle and sheep, CRP is classified as a moderate APP.
