Target Information
Oxyntomodulin (OXM) is a naturally occurring peptide hormone composed of 37 amino acids, primarily found in the colon and produced by the oxyntic (fundic) cells within the mucosa of the stomach. Oxyntomodulin plays a significant role in reducing food intake and inhibits gastric emptying in humans. By suppressing gastric emptying, it may increase gastric distension, which contributes to the sensation of fullness and satiety.
