Target Information

Chicken anosmin-1 (ANOS1) is an extracellular matrix protein that plays a pivotal role in the development of the nervous system in chickens. It is involved in cell adhesion, neurite outgrowth, and branching, which are essential for the proper development of neural tissues. A study has shown that Anos1 in chickens upregulates Fgf8 and Bmp5 gene expression, and directly binds to Fgf8, Bmp5, and Wnt3a to modulate their activity, thus promoting cranial neural crest formation.
