Target Information

Salmonella schwarzengrund UDP-N-Acetylglucosamine--N-Acetylmuramyl-(pentapeptide) Pyrophosphoryl-Undecaprenol N-Acetylglucosamine Transferase (murG) is an enzyme involved in the synthesis of peptidoglycan, a major component of bacterial cell walls. In veterinary medicine, this enzyme is a potential target for developing new antibacterial drugs that could inhibit the growth of S. schwarzengrund in animals by disrupting its cell wall synthesis, thereby reducing the spread of salmonellosis.
