Target Information
Sheep clusterin is a multifunctional protein found in various cellular components and plays diverse roles in the biology of sheep. It is involved in tissue remodeling, apoptosis, lipid transport, and complement-mediated cell lysis, serving as an extracellular chaperone. Clusterin is also implicated in the regulation of immune responses and has been shown to be upregulated in germinal centers of the spleen during immune responses, suggesting a role in the immune system. In sheep, Clusterin expression is observed in the anterior and intermediate lobes of the pituitary gland, suggesting possible roles in secretory cell turnover, hormone secretion, or lipid uptake.
