Target Information
Sheep fibronectin type III domain containing 5 (FNDC5), also known as irisin, is a protein involved in various physiological processes in sheep. FNDC5 is synthesized in muscle and upon proteolytic cleavage, it produces irisin, which is thought to play a role in the regulation of metabolism, particularly in the conversion of white adipose tissue to beige adipose tissue, enhancing energy expenditure and thermogenesis. This protein may also contribute to overall health and metabolic efficiency in sheep species.
