Target Information
Swine adiponectin receptor protein 1 (ADIPOR1) plays a key role in regulating fatty acid oxidation and glucose uptake, primarily expressed in skeletal muscle. It activates the AMPK signaling pathway, increasing mitochondrial biogenesis and energy expenditure, thereby enhancing insulin sensitivity and exercise endurance. In swine, research on ADIPOR1 helps to understand its role in energy metabolism and disease, providing a basis for developing new therapeutic strategies. For example, stable expression of human ADIPOR1 in porcine skeletal muscle through transgenic technology can mimic the effects of exercise on muscle mitochondrial biogenesis and explore its anti-diabetic effects.
