Target Information

Feline Transferrin Receptor Protein 1 (TFRC) is an important type II transmembrane protein that mediates iron uptake by cells. TFRC binds to transferrin to facilitate iron endocytosis, maintaining intracellular iron homeostasis. In cats, TFRC is essential for erythropoiesis and nervous system development. Additionally, TFRC is often overexpressed in tumor cells and can serve as a drug delivery target for cancer therapy.
