Bovine chymotrypsin-like elastase family member 2A (CELA2A) is a serine protease enzyme found in cattle. It is part of the chymotrypsin-like elastase family and plays a role in the digestion of proteins, particularly the breakdown of elastin, a major component of connective tissues. CELA2A contributes to the normal functioning of the gastrointestinal tract and may also be involved in the regulation of inflammatory responses and the activation of certain hormones.
