Target Information
Chicken glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is a multifaceted enzyme primarily recognized for its role in glycolysis, the metabolic pathway that generates energy for cells. In addition to its catalytic function in glucose breakdown, GAPDH has been implicated in a variety of non-glycolytic activities, such as protein synthesis, nuclear tRNA export, microtubule assembly, membrane fusion, and apoptosis .Moreover, GAPDH has been shown to participate in the immune response, modulating the functions of chicken dendritic cells to boost Th1 type immune response and stimulate autologous CD4+ T cells differentiation in-vitro. This protein's diverse roles underscore its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and adapting to different physiological and pathological conditions in chickens.
