Swine cholesterol side-chain cleavage enzyme, mitochondrial, also known as P450scc or CYP11A1, is a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of steroid hormones. It catalyzes the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone, a precursor for all other steroid hormones, through a series of hydroxylations and a final cleavage reaction.

This product is shipped with dry ice. It is recommended to aliquote as needed and store at -80°C upon receipt. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4°C for 1 week, at < -80°C for 12 months. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

User Note
