Target Information

C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR2), also known as IL8RB, is encoded by the CXCR2 gene in cattle. CXCR2 recognizes interleukin 8 (IL8) with high affinity. Upon binding IL8, CXCR2 mediates neutrophil chemotaxis and activation. It is expressed on the surface of neutrophils, contributing to immune responses. Research has demonstrated a significant association between the incidence of subclinical mastitis and specific polymorphisms of the CXCR2 gene in Holstein dairy cows.
