Target Information

Bovine parvovirus (BPV), belonging to the parvovirus group, has three notable subtypes: BPV1, BPV2, and BPV3. It primarily leads to diarrhea in newborn calves, as well as respiratory and reproductive issues in adult cattle, and is found worldwide. The virus spreads both vertically, through transplacental means, and horizontally, via oro-fecal routes. It is highly resistant to both chemical and physical challenges.
