Target Information

Infectious hypodermal and hematopoietic necrosis (IHHN) is a parvoviral disease affecting penaeid shrimp. It leads to up to 90% mortality in Western blue shrimp (Penaeus stylirostris) and causes significant deformities in Pacific white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei). The virus responsible is classified as Penaeus stylirostris hamaparvovirus and is the smallest known virus affecting penaeid shrimp.
