Histoplasma is a fungus found in soil, as well as in bird and bat droppings. Histoplasmosis ranks as the second most common systemic fungal disease in cats. The clinical signs of feline histoplasmosis are typically vague and non-specific, such as lethargy, weight loss, anorexia, and fever.
