Target Information

Mycoplasma suis is an uncultivable bacterium without a cell wall that attaches to host cells, belonging to the hemotrophic mycoplasma group. It can infect swine of all ages, although clinical signs usually appear only in young, growing pigs. M. suis infections are found globally and lead to significant economic losses in the pig industry due to a condition known as infectious anemia of pigs, historically referred to as porcine eperythrozoonosis.
