Target Information

Mucormycosis is a rare yet potentially fatal or debilitating infection caused by various fungi. The most frequently observed pathogens in clinical scenarios belong to the genera Rhizopus, Mucor, and Lichtheimia. Occasionally, species from other genera like Rhizomucor, Saksenaea, Cunninghamella, and Apophysomyces are responsible for infections. Instances of mucormycosis have been documented in a range of species.
