It is known to cause various livestock diseases commonly found in pigs, cows, and poultry, including mastitis, joint infections, and skin infections. Among the 25 identified staphylococcal enterotoxins, staphylococcal enterotoxin C (SEC) is notably diverse, with at least six distinct variants.
