Target Information

The H4 subtype of the avian influenza virus (AIV) is known for its broad host range and is frequently detected in migratory waterfowl. These viruses are categorized as low pathogenic avian influenza viruses (LPAIVs). H4 AIVs can infect a diverse array of hosts, such as chickens, turkeys, shorebirds, psittacine birds, seals, and pigs. In China, H4 avian influenza viruses have been extensively identified in live poultry markets.
