Target Information

Brucella microti is a bacterial species initially identified in the common vole, Microtus arvalis. This bacterium is Gram-negative, lacks motility, does not form spores, and has a coccoid shape. It has been found not only in the common vole but also in wild boars and red foxes. Notably, B. microti can persist in soil for extended periods, indicating the potential presence of environmental reservoirs.
