Target Information

Streptococcus suis is broadly recognized as a prevalent and significant pathogen affecting swine. Infections caused by S. suis can lead to conditions such as meningitis, polyarthritis, polyserositis, endocarditis, septicemia, and sudden death, causing notable economic losses in pig farming. In humans, most clinical cases were associated with serotype 2 strains.
