Fusobacterium necrophorum is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming anaerobic bacterium that normally resides in the alimentary tract of both animals and humans. It is the most prevalent species involved in animal infections. These infections affect a wide range of species and include foot rot in cattle and sheep, liver abscesses in cattle, and stomatitis in calves and pigs.
