The feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is an RNA virus categorized under the Oncovirinae subfamily within the Retroviridae family. It spreads from infected cats through the exchange of saliva or nasal secretions. If the cat's immune system fails to combat it, the virus compromises the immune system, potentially causing life-threatening diseases.
