Spring Viremia of Carp (SVC), also referred to as swim bladder inflammation, is a contagious viral disease predominantly affecting farmed carp and related species. Outbreaks of this disease can lead to significant economic losses. SVC is particularly lethal in young fish, with mortality rates reaching up to 90%. The Spring Viremia of Carp Virus is known to infect a diverse range of fish species, including silver carp, grass carp, crucian carp, and bighead carp.
