Target Information

Campylobacter fetus subspecies venerealis (Cfv) exhibits a strong preference for the genital systems of both male and female cattle. Transmission of the bacteria primarily occurs during natural mating, but the disease can also spread through artificial insemination using semen from infected bulls. Bovine infectious infertility, caused by Cfv infection, results in early embryonic mortality in cattle.
