Target Information

Streptococcus suis is broadly recognized as a prevalent and significant pathogen affecting swine. Infections caused by S. suis can lead to conditions such as meningitis, polyarthritis, polyserositis, endocarditis, septicemia, and sudden death, causing notable economic losses in pig farming. MRP is a cell wall-anchored protein found in a 136-kDa variant, along with larger and smaller sizes. The presence of MRP seems to correlate with virulence, depending on the strain.

Target Streptococcus suis muramidase-released protein (MRP)
