Target Information

Mycoplasma hyopharyngis is a porcine species that is rarely isolated. This bacterium is a commensal organism found in the upper respiratory tract of swine. Since it is considered non-pathogenic, studies on this species are less common compared to other swine mycoplasmas. M. hyopharyngis was first isolated from oral and nasal swabs collected from two different pig herds in the United States.
