Avian encephalomyelitis is a viral disease impacting the central nervous system (CNS) in various bird species. Infection with avian encephalomyelitis virus (AEV) leads to encephalomyelitis in young birds such as chicks, turkey poults, Japanese quail, pheasants, and pigeons. Symptoms of AEV infection include tremors, ataxia, head tilting, and paralysis, alongside reduced egg production in hens.
