Target Information

Yarrowia lipolytica, also known as Candida lipolytica, is an ascomycetous yeast recognized for its capacity to degrade lipids and proteins and its ability to grow on n-paraffins as its sole carbon source. It is considered an emerging opportunistic "rare pathogenic yeast." While uncommon, Candida lipolytica is a species of Candida capable of causing invasive fungemia.
