Indiana vesiculovirus (VSIV), belonging to the Rhabdoviridae family, can infect insects, cattle, horses, and pigs. This virus holds significant importance for farmers in specific parts of the world due to its impact on cattle. It is zoonotic, causing a flu-like illness in humans who become infected. The VSIV genome consists of a single negative-sense RNA molecule, comprising 11,161 nucleotides.
