Specifications
Target Information
Avian influenza (AI) viruses are categorized based on two protein types: hemagglutinin (H) proteins, numbered from H1 to H16, and neuraminidase (N) proteins, ranging from N1 to N9. The N1 subtype is linked to highly pathogenic strains like H1N1 and H5N1. H5N2 is a subtype of Influenzavirus A, commonly known as the avian influenza or bird flu virus. This subtype affects a broad spectrum of birds such as chickens, ducks, turkeys, falcons, and ostriches. The H3N2 avian influenza virus is widespread among pigs in China and has also been detected in pigs in Vietnam, contributing to the emergence of new variant strains. The H6N6 subtype of avian influenza virus (AIV) is widespread in wild birds and poultry and has gradually expanded its host range to include mammals, such as swine. Research indicates that the neuraminidase component of the human influenza A(H7N9) virus may have originated from influenza A(H11N9) viruses that were present in eastern China.
