Columbid alphaherpesvirus 1 (CoHV-1) is a virus species within the genus Mardivirus, part of the Alphaherpesvirinae subfamily, family Herpesviridae, and order Herpesvirales. It is related to gallid herpesvirus 2 and is known to cause acute and fatal disease in both captive and wild pigeons, as well as raptors, including various owl, hawk, and falcon species.
