Target Information

Salmonella is a genus of rod-shaped, gram-negative bacteria belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family. This genus comprises two recognized species: Salmonella enterica and Salmonella bongori. These bacteria are commonly found in the digestive systems of humans and animals, particularly reptiles. Listeriosis predominantly affects feedlot or sheltered ruminants during the winter-spring season. This infectious and potentially fatal disease can impact animals, birds, fish, crustaceans, and humans. It is a significant food-borne zoonotic disease caused by Listeria monocytogenes, an intracellular pathogen with the ability to spread between cells, allowing it to cross barriers such as the blood-brain, intestinal, and placental boundaries. Vibrio parahaemolyticus stands out as the leading cause of seafood-borne gastroenteritis globally and poses a significant challenge to worldwide aquaculture.

Target Salmonella spp.; Listeria monocytogenes; vibrio parahaemolyticus
