Target Information
Salmonella is a genus of rod-shaped, gram-negative bacteria belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family. These bacteria are commonly found in the digestive systems of humans and animals. Shigella is a genus of Gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic bacteria that are non-spore-forming, nonmotile, and rod-shaped, genetically related to Escherichia. It is a major contributor to bacterial diarrhea. Vibrio cholerae resides naturally in brackish or saltwater environments, where it easily adheres to the chitin-containing shells of crabs, shrimp, and other shellfish.
