Swinepox virus (SWPV) is the sole member of the genus Suipoxvirus within the subfamily Chordopoxvirinae of the Poxviridae family. It possesses a linear double-stranded DNA genome measuring 146 kbp and is the causative agent of swinepox, an eruptive dermatitis in pigs.
