First characterized in 1970, Mycoplasma dispar is a mollicute commonly isolated from the respiratory airways of both healthy and pneumonic calves globally. Often overlooked, this pathogen is frequently involved in bovine respiratory disease (BRD), impacting cattle worldwide and leading to lost production along with significant treatment and prevention costs.
