Ochroconis gallopava, also known as Dactylaria gallopava or Dactylaria constricta var. gallopava, belongs to the genus Dactylaria. This thermotolerant, darkly pigmented fungus is responsible for various infections in fowl, turkeys, poults, and immunocompromised humans. Ochroconis gallopava has a particular affinity for tissues in the central nervous system, including the brain.
