Target Information

Schistosomiasis is a disease that can be acute or chronic, resulting from infection by parasitic worms. The genus Schistosoma, known as blood flukes, causes this disease. In sub-Saharan Africa, livestock schistosomiasis, driven by S. bovis, S. curassoni, and S. mattheei, is commonly found in cattle, sheep, and goats.
