Target Information

Bovine Profilin-3 is encoded by the PFN3 gene in cattle. PFN3 is one of the vegetative isoforms of profilins. It is involved in actin dynamics, which is critical for various cellular processes such as cell elongation, cell division, and cytoplasmic streaming. Profilin-3 is expressed exclusively in spermatids. Predicted 3D structures indicate that PFN3 has a conserved actin-binding site, but retains only about half of the common poly-L-proline binding site.

Target/Biomarker Bovine PFN3
Target Synonym profilin 3; profilin-3
Gene ID 521379
UniProt ID Q32PB1
