Target Information

Bovine Proto-Oncogene Serine/Threonine-Protein Kinase Pim-1 is encoded by the PIM1 gene in cattle. PIM1 is a proto-oncogene that encodes a serine/threonine kinase of the same name. Originally discovered in murine T-cell lymphomas, it is frequently activated by the Moloney murine leukemia virus. PIM1 plays a role in cell cycle regulation, cell proliferation, and survival. Research has shown that pim-1 is upregulated in B lymphocytes from bovine leukemia virus-infected persistent lymphocytosis cows.
