Target Information

Cloprostenol is a synthetic analogue of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α). It acts as a potent luteolytic agent, meaning that it causes the corpus luteum (a temporary endocrine structure in the ovary) to stop producing progesterone and to reduce in size over several days. This effect is used in animals to induce estrus (heat) and to cause abortion. It is commonly used in veterinary medicine for reproductive management in animals.
