Target Information

Canine Aquaporin 2 (AQP2) is a water channel protein predominantly localized in the apical membrane and intracellular vesicles of the kidney's collecting duct principal cells. It plays a critical role in water reabsorption and urine concentration, regulated by vasopressin (VP) through its V2 receptor. AQP2 is essential for maintaining water homeostasis, and its dysfunction is associated with disorders such as nephrogenic diabetes insipidus.
