Target Information
Canine kelch like family member 2, also known as KLF2, is a transcription factor that plays a significant role in immune cell migration, activation, differentiation, and quiescence. It is expressed in various cell types, including lung, endothelial cells, and lymphocytes, and is crucial for maintaining blood-vessel integrity and lung development. KLF2 is particularly important for T-cell quiescence and survival, with its deficiency leading to signs of activation and induction of cell death in peripheral T cells. The expression of KLF2 is downregulated with T-cell receptor activation, suggesting its role in preventing spontaneous activation and subsequent death of mature T cells.
