Target Information

Porcine dynamin 2 (DNM2) is a crucial member of the dynamin family of large GTPase proteins, which are involved in the regulation of membrane dynamics and vesicle trafficking within cells. DNM2 plays a pivotal role in the process of endocytosis, where it helps in the scission of vesicles from the plasma membrane, facilitating the internalization of nutrients, signaling molecules, and the removal of receptors. As a molecular target, DNM2 is significant due to its essential function in cellular membrane remodeling, which impacts a variety of physiological processes including neuronal signaling, immune response, and the life cycle of pathogens. Its activity is tightly regulated, and dysregulation of DNM2 has been implicated in neurological disorders, developmental abnormalities, and cancer.
