Porcine integrin alpha-5 (ITGA5), also known as CD49e or fibronectin receptor alpha, is a crucial component of the integrin family of cell adhesion molecules. This heterodimeric transmembrane protein forms a complex with beta subunits, specifically ITGB1, to create an α5β1 heterodimer that engages with extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins such as fibronectin through the RGD binding site.
