Target Information

Hyaluronic acid (also known as hyaluronan or hyaluronate) is an anionic, nonsulfated glycosaminoglycan distributed widely throughout connective, epithelial, and neural tissues. It helps the joints function smoothly by preventing bones from grinding against each other and reduces pain and the risk of injury. In a sheep model, it has been reported that HA may have a role in preventing the progression of osteoarthrotic temporomandibular joint osteoarthrosis.
