Target Information
The Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is a mosquito-borne virus that can cause fever, joint pain, and other symptoms in humans. The CHIKV spike glycoprotein responsible for viral entry into host cells is typically referred to as E2. E2 is involved in receptor binding and is a key player in the initial stages of viral entry. It interacts with cellular receptors on the surface of the host cell, facilitating the subsequent fusion process mediated by E1.
